Over time, the shaving soap may show a natural maturation process. While it sits, a slight dehydration can occur, resulting in the loss of some of the water originally contained in the formula.

This phenomenon may make the soap appear more compact and can cause a slight separation from the edges of the jar, sometimes becoming firmer and more similar to a hard soap puck.
